Campus Outreach thrives through the partnership of thousands of individuals, families, churches, businesses, and organizations. We prioritize the faithful stewardship of funds entrusted to us, both before God and our donors. Contributions support:
Staff Compensation: Providing reasonable compensation for our staff members.
Ministry Programs and Operations: Funding essential ministry activities and operational costs.
Student Summer Training and Mission Projects: Equipping students for impactful summer experiences and mission initiatives.
As an organization without a general budget or dedicated fundraising team, each member serves as both a campus missionary and a fundraiser. They assemble a financial support team comprising individuals, local churches, and businesses. Fundraising goals are tailored to cover each member's annual cost to the organization, which varies based on individual needs.
We deeply appreciate our support teams whose investments empower us to cultivate leaders on campus, impacting lives for Christ.
Donation Information
Donations to Campus Outreach Birmingham are non-refundable and fully deductible for income tax purposes. Except for intangible religious benefits, no goods or services are exchanged for contributions. While we endeavor to honor donor suggestions, all donations are utilized at the discretion of Campus Outreach to maximize impact.

Ways To Give
If you are interested in supporting our ministry or have questions about your donation,
please choose one of the options below:

Visit our staff page to select the team member you wish to support.
For Stock, choose "Assets" under "What would you like to donate?" on their giving page.
Follow the outlined steps. iDonate (our online giving platform) will email you the Letter of Authority/Transfer Certificate for your broker. If you do not receive this email, please contact iDonate at idcfsupport@idonate.com for assistance.
If the stock name isn't listed in the dropdown for the "Symbol" box, simply type the ticker symbol.

Your automatic draft will continue as long as the staff member whose ministry you are supporting remains on staff with us. If you wish to modify or cancel your automatic draft, please notify us in writing at birminghamfinance@campusoutreach.org.
Important Details:
Notification Requirement: Changes to your automatic draft require written notification.
Processing Time: Please allow 2-3 business days for us to process your request.
Verbal Commitments: In order to protect our donors, we only accept changes and instructions in writing. Verbal commitments cannot be honored.

Year-end receipts are typically sent by January 30th. If you receive e-receipts, these will be sent from the email address birminghamfinance@campusoutreach.org. If you cannot locate your receipt after searching your email, please contact us at birminghamfinance@campusoutreach.org to request another copy. Please note that requests for additional copies may take 2-3 days to process.

Yes, all gifts given to Campus Outreach Birmingham are tax deductible. Campus Outreach Birmingham operates under the umbrella of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, which is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Birmingham, AL.

Under IRS guidelines (IRC 170), for a donation to qualify as a charitable contribution and be tax deductible, it must meet specific criteria:
The donation must be made for the use of the qualified charitable organization.
The donation must be made without receiving adequate consideration (quid pro quo).
The donation must be made without the donor receiving something of value for payment.
The donor must relinquish all dominion and control over the gift.
It's important to note that established court rulings have established that refunding a charitable contribution implies that the gift may not qualify as a charitable contribution. Therefore, Briarwood Presbyterian Church dba Campus Outreach Birmingham does not refund donations solicited by a specific staff member or volunteer if that individual leaves the ministry.
This policy also extends to donations made to support events such as the New Year's Conference, Summer Beach Project, and Cross Cultural Projects, even if the student volunteer soliciting the gift does not participate or if the event is canceled or fully funded.
